An Equity Inheritance Case of Disputes on Shares of Family Enterprise

A late entrepreneur in Chongqing established several enterprises, of which the shares were partially held by his different family members. With the entrepreneur’s early death, his family members did not divide his heritage, but only made a rough arrangement on the shares and management of the enterprises of the entrepreneur. Years later, some of the enterprises had made great progresses, and their shares were also reorganized as required by enterprise management. However, the family members had some internal disputes due to some problems on family relationship and marriage. As a result, a series of lawsuits were filed to the court by the family members regarding the controlling of relevant enterprises. Mr. Chambers Yang and Ms. Chen Jing from Haworth Lexon Chongqing office jointly handled this case. Through tough negotiations, a settlement agreement was finally reached among all family members.
